Key findings
Scores by vertical
Scores run from 0 to 100. Unscored organizations count toward Organizations but not toward the averages.
| Vertical | Organizations | Scored | Average | Median | A or better | Graded F |
|---|
Grade distribution
Each bar is one vertical’s scored organizations, split by grade. Two verticals with the same average can have very different shares of failing grades.
Breakdown by category
The largest categories in each vertical, with their size and average score. Open a vertical’s list and sort by score to find the organizations behind a gap.
Methodology
Every organization on a published Market Index list counts with its latest verified score under the current scoring model, the same 0 to 100 score Domain Visualizer gives any domain. Public companies are re-scored every trading day; colleges, hospitals and non-profits about once a month.
An organization on two lists of one vertical counts once there. Categories are each vertical’s own classification: sector for public companies, Carnegie classification for colleges, ownership for hospitals and cause group for non-profits.
The report is rebuilt at most once an hour, and a vertical appears only once one of its lists is published. The Market Index technical details describe the scoring in full.
About this report
The DNS Security Posture Report is experimental reference data about DNS configuration. It says nothing about an organization beyond its domain and is not investment or procurement advice.
